A LITTLE ABOUT ME
Welcome, my name is Kurt W. Stenstrom
I am a BRAND STRATEGIST skilled at developing and translating current brand positions into new creative solutions that illustrate my client's successes, visions, mission, and goals. If you need design visuals, advertising, or go-to-market strategies which have a cohesive brand message, I can improve your brand image.
I am a graduate of Kendall College of Art and Design with a BFA in Illustration.
I started my career freelancing, then moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma to take a job as a Graphic Designer for The United States Junior Chamber of Commerce (Jaycees). From there I moved back north to accept an Illustrator job at Wainwright & Raber in Mishawaka, Indiana. After several years of developing my Illustrations skill, I accepted a management position as the Graphics Manager back at The United States Junior Chamber of Commerce in Tulsa. It was my experiences at the Jaycees that completed my professional skills and expanded my abilities in business management, budgeting, negotiation, leadership and public speaking.
It was at the Jaycees where I was asked by Brad Place to teach evening design classes at The University of Tulsa. After the next two years, I realized my love for teaching and learning. The Jaycees lived up to their tagline "A Leadership Training Organization."
After 18 years I left and started working full time for my own business, StreamDesigns. Over the next four years, I acquired an impressive list of business where I provided Illustration, Design, Branding, Consulting, Photography, and Advertising for my clients.
Four years later I was approached by Oklahoma State University Institute of Technologies, Visual Communications Division to teach. After several negotiations, I accepted and began teaching core classes in design and production. After a few semesters, I was given the final Capstone Portfolio Classes for all of the division's programs. At the end of the 2017 fall semester and the decline of the States Budgeting for higher education I was offered a buyout.
After 21 successful years again I put my skills and experiences to work for myself. Currently, I am a Branding Consultant for MEEKSGROUP and am excited to help this incredible creative business and promote the amazing work they produce.
